Gerard A. Johnson, 62, of Ogden Mill Apartments, Cohoes died suddenly at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on Sunday, February 1, 2015. Born and educated in Cohoes, he was the son of Jane Reid Johnson of No. Troy and the late Arthur Johnson. He was a surveyor at CP Momrow in West Sand Lake for many years prior to working as a carpenter at ARCY Plastic in Cohoes. He loved the outdoors, especially Sacandaga Lake. Survivors in addition to his mother is his daughter, Melissa Johnson of Latham, his siblings, Jane Digirolamo of Cohoes, Arthur (Judy) Johnson of Mississippi, Donna Momrow of Niskayuna, Mary Ellen (Tim) Reilly of Rotterdam and the late Robert Johnson, David Johnson and Deborah Link. Also survived by his sister-in-law Lynn Johnson of Mechanicville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Wednesday evening at 6:30pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. James Ebert officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm. Those who wish to remember Jerry in a special way, may make a contribution to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
