Francis (Frank) T. Parker, 76, of Cohoes entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 25, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 16, 1938 in Cohoes to the late Francis and Mary Lewis Parker. He graduated from St. Agnes School and LaSalle Institute. He was married to Madonna Boyle June 14, 1969. They shared 46 years of laughter and love and were the very best of friends. He was employed by DOT and ENCON and later as the Director of Canal Design for the Thruway Authority, the position from which he ultimately retired. He loved being an engineer and thrived on explaining Locks, Flood Protection, Bridges and Detours to his daughters and grandchildren. Frank was also a very active and involved father to his three daughters. He loved coaching softball and basketball and enjoyed spending his Saturday mornings at the St. Agnes Lyceum with his Basketball clinic. Frank was an avid reader and was very involved in his Church, St. Bernard's serving as a lector. His mottos were Family, God, Country and Truth, Duty and Honor. He started every morning with "Today is the first day of the Rest of your Life…Enjoy". To everyone he met he left a legacy of honesty, integrity, sense of humor and the love of family. He is survived by his loving family, wife Madonna Boyle Parker of Cohoes, daughters, Amy DeSorbo of Cohoes, Erin Parker of Cohoes and Tara (Matt) Berchielli of New Windsor, N.Y., grandchildren Michael DeSorbo, Josephine Bridget Parker, Giovanni Berchielli and the late Angelina DeSorbo. Also survived by cousins William (Billy) (Judy) Parker of Watervliet and James (Buddy) Parker of Canandaigua, N.Y. and his dog Sarge. Funeral Saturday 11:00am at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Friday from 5 to 8pm. Those who wish to remember Frank in a special way may make a contribution to the American Diabetes Association, Albany, N.Y. in his memory.
