Jean B. LePage Liberty, 82, of Mann Avenue, Cohoes, died Monday October 6, 2014 at Samaritan Hospital, Troy with her loving family at her side after a brief illness. Born in Cohoes, educated in St. Agnes School, Cohoes and graduated from Catholic Central High School. Daughter of the late Matthew and Mildred LePage. Jean was a homemaker, a parishioner and Eucharist Minister at the Church of the Holy Trinity. She made banners, altar cloths, curtains for the altar, and Christmas ornaments for the holidays. For 20 years, Jean has embroidered baptismal bibs for newly-baptized children. Her total of more than 300 bibs continued to climb, even as she battled leukemia. She was honored by Albany Diocese for her many acts of charity and kindness for many years to her Church. Jean is survived by her husband of 60 years, Earl W. Liberty of Cohoes, her children Debra Liberty of Boca Raton, FL., Lory (Terry) Taylor of Atlanta, GA., Vaugh (Irene) Liberty of Cohoes and Earl (Mary Catherine) Liberty of Cathleen, GA., grandmother of Abigail Liberty. Sister of Lillian Whitney of Ballston Lake, also survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral Friday 10:00am at the Church of the Holy Trinity where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y. The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Thursday from 4 to 7pm. Those who wish to remember Jean in a special way may make a contribution in her memory to the Church of the Holy Trinity Organ Fund.
