Obituary of Theresa E. Baker

Theresa Smith Baker, 81, of Latham passed away at The Capital Living Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre, Schenectady, on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 after a long illness. Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Hanecek Smith. She was the loving and very devoted wife and best friend of Roland J. Baker. Theresa was a homemaker and communicant of the former St. Bernard's Church in Cohoes and more recently Our Lady of Assumption Church in Latham. She was an avid bowler in two leagues at Latham Bowl. Surviving are her husband, Roland J. Baker of Latham, her daughter Susan M. Baker of Rotterdam, her son Thomas J. Baker, his wife Dr. Allison Batchelor, and grandsons Jonathan and Christopher Baker all of Athens, Ohio. Sister of Katherine Baker of Cohoes, Agnes Dedrick of Charlotte, North Carolina and Stephen (Patty) Smith of North Troy. She is predeceased by brothers John Smith, Andrew Smith and sister Ann Mnich. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Monday, February 22, 2016 10:00am at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Latham where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Geoffrey D. Burke. Interment will follow in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
