Lillian B Kane Obituary
Cohoes – Lillian B. Charbonneau Kane, 81, of Cohoes, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026, after a brief illness. She was born in St. Jean Quebec, Canada and was the daughter of the late Leo and Lucina Bouleris Charbonneau. She was educated in Cohoes Schools. Lillian was a seamstress at Troy Town Shirt in Cohoes for many years, URSULA of Switzerland in Waterford, and the Cohoes City School District before caring for her granddaughter full time. Lil enjoyed Hallmark movies, playing cards especially Skip-Bo and Five Crowns, Pokeno, family game night and starting each day playing Wordle. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest source of pride and joy. She spent many hours attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, school functions, and dance recitals. Family gatherings brought her much joy and happiness. Her famous homemade popcorn was her specialty found at all family events. Lil was the first person to help any friend or family member in need. She went above and beyond for all her loved ones. Her children and grandchildren are proud recipients of a book she made for each one that contained her most delicious recipes and tips and tricks to remove stains. She was an expert seamstress who tailored clothes for her family. She was also a talented crocheter. Her immense amount of love and knowledge will stay in our hearts forever. Devoted wife of John Kane of Cohoes for 43 years. Loving Mother of Theresa Krause of Waterford, Roger (Theodora) D’Amico, Jr. of Watervliet, Tracy (Steven) Mattfeld of East Berne, Rachel D’Amico of Troy, and Nicholas (Lisa) D’Amico of Schaghticoke. Dedicated Grandmother of Joshua Krause, Jacob Lamere, Athena Reome, Serena D’Amico, and Nicole D’Amico. Loving sister of Jeanne Minnick, Claire Halliday, Ellen Barno and Ann (Marty) Cronin and the late Laurette Deyoe, Robert Charbonneau and Leo Charbonneau, Jr., sister-in-law of Carol-Anne and Patricia Charbonneau, also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 10:00am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
