Cohoes – Shirley A. Palitsch Potts, 100, of Cohoes, passed away at Van Rensselaer Manor, North Greenbush on Saturday, May 2, 2026. She was born in Troy and was the daughter of the late James and Adeline Bureau Palitsch.She graduated from Catholic Central High School, Troy, Class of 1943. She worked at Frear’s Department Store, in Troy, Watervliet Arsenal and Graybar Electric in Albany. Wife of the late Harold Potts. Mother of Carol Ann (late Charles) Bessette of Waterford, Sharon Kaye (Clive) Lamont of Cohoes, and the late Harold (Jeanne) Potts, Jr. of Cohoes. Grandmother of Todd (Ann Marie) Potts, Eric (Dana) Potts, Brian Potts, Ke’zie Lamont and Natanya Lamont, Great Grandmother of Olivia, Tristian, Caden, Ryker, Reagan, and Tyler. Sister of Edna Foley of Florida and the late Edward Palitsch and James Palitsch, also survived by nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, Cohoes on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 9:00am. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Tuesday from 4 to 7pm.
