Melrose – Carl F Peterson, 81, of Melrose passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 22, 2026. Born November 12, 1944, to Frank W and Anna T Peterson (Charbonneau).Carl worked for Grand Union for many years and later was the owner/proprietor of C & L Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. He enjoyed hunting and shooting trap. He was a life member of the Pleasantdale Rod and Gun Club and a New England Patriots fan. Husband of 60 years to the late Linda A. Peterson. He is survived by his three children: Darcy L. Morris (Robert) of Vale, NC, Tracy L Watson (John) of Waterford, NY and Scott C Peterson (Lori) of Hastings, NY. Also survived by his five grandchildren: Tara A Brock (Simeon) of Melrose, Luke Morris (Sara), Courtney Rickson (Brian), Adam Morris (Karen), and Amanda Stalker (Christian). Four great grandchildren, Cameron Roselynn Brock, Harper Jane Stalker, Ariya Lynn Morris, Ella Mae Bobbi Morris and expected in September 2026 his first great grandson Jackson John Morris. He was predeceased by his sister Joan Peterson. Also survived by his best friend John E. Watson and his furry companion and emotional support was from Yuki Brock. At the request of the family, there are no viewing hours. Friends who wish to remember Carl in a special way may donate to the Community Hospice, Melrose Fire Department or Hoosic Valley Rescue Squad in his memory.
