Latham – James K. Rainville, Sr. aka “Pops,” 71, of Latham, passed away at Albany Medical Center Hospital on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Cohoes, NY to the late Joseph Rainville and Marion Payette Rainville. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. He made his career in Providence, Rhode Island, as a master mechanic. He drove for Suburban Transport for a couple of years. Everywhere he went he made everyone smile and always made new friends. He is survived by the love of his life, Robin Longo, his children Chantal (Dan), James, Jr. (April), Maryellen (Joe), and Jennifer, also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the  Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY on Thursday, March 5,  2026 at 11AM. Relatives and friends planning to go to the cemetery should arrive at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes by 10AM.
