Troy - Stephania Klebieko, fondly known as Babchi, passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2026. Stephania is survived by her sons Michael (Christina) of Clifton Park, NY and Frank (Nikki) of Winchester, Virginia and her grandchildren Philip, Amelia, and Callen. Born in Stargard, Poland in 1948. She moved to the US at the age of 16, later married Frank Klebieko and lived most of her life on Willow Street in Cohoes, NY. She is well known for making her famous “Babchi cake,” golumpli and platzki. Stephania was a long-standing member of St. Michael’s Church, Cohoes, NY. In her later years, she resided at the Pines at Heartwood in Troy, NY where she enjoyed coloring, crocheting, and outings with friends and family. Over the years, Stephania crocheted hundreds of booties, blankets and doll dresses donating many of them to charities serving children in need. Relatives and friends are invited to attend services at the Dufresne Funeral Home, Inc. 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes, NY on Tuesday, January 20th, at 11:30am.
