Cohoes – Lorraine F. Rousia DeFruscio, 89, of Cohoes passed away at Eddy Village Green, Cohoes on Sunday, July 20, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born in Cohoes and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Florence Terrell Rousia. She graduated from Cohoes High School, received her AA Associates Degree at Hudson Valley Community College and BA Degree from Siena. She worked for New York State OMRDD, Albany for many years, retiring after 37 years of service. She volunteered at Cohoes Senior Center for many years. She liked to go to the Casino, loved to travel, for pleasure and work. She contributed to many charitable organizations. Predeceased by her husband, Arthur W. DeFruscio. Mother of David (Karen) Defruscio of Cobleskill, Mark (Julie) DeFruscio, of Cohoes, Donna (late Emmett) MacGregor of Cohoes, Arthur (Suzanne) DeFruscio of Halfmoon , Robert (Kathy) DeFruscio of Leesburg, Vir. And Dean (Dalton) DeFruscio of Loudonville. Grandmother of  Matthew, Sarah, Kathleen, Adam, Patrick, Nikki, Shelly, Kristie, Thomas, Andrew, Samantha, Robert, Arthur, Spencer, and Audrey and seventeen great grandchildren. Sister of the late Barbara, Alfred, and Jean, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Her friend of many years, Marjorieann Stewart and survived by her beloved pets Frosty and Millie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11:00 at St. Michael’s Church, Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends at the Dufresne Funeral Home, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Friday from 8:30 to 10:30 prior to the Mass. Friends who wish to remember Lorraine in a special way may donate to the American Heart Association in her memory.
