Troy – Theresa Kelley DeMayo, 61, of Troy passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025, after a long illness. She was born and educated in Cohoes and was the daughter of the late John and Eleanor Perry Kelley, Sr. Theresa had the most radiant personality, touching countless lives with her extraordinary gift of connection and ability to make everyone laugh (including herself). Her compassionate nature and warmth inspired profound love and admiration from all who knew her. Theresa’s passions were a testament to her zest for life. These included boat rides with her husband Bill, cheering for NASCAR, crafting, gardening, Bingo with her daughter Jess and simply basking in the beauty of the outdoors. Her heart and home were always open to loved ones. To know her was to love her. Her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift all the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all. She was predeceased by her loving husband William DeMayo and her precious cat Nicko. She is survived by her children, Jessica DeMayo (Dave Jacques) of Cohoes, Billy DeMayo of Cohoes, Damien DeMayo of Missouri, and Josh McEwan of Cohoes. She is also survived by sisters, Eleanor Kelley, Anita Sperbeck (Dave) and brother John Kelley, twenty grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her faithful dogs Mia and Mr. Phatz. Funeral services will be held on Monday July 21, 2025, at the Dufresne Funeral Home, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes at 6:30pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 7pm prior to the service. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford on Tuesday at 11:00am.
