Cohoes – Edward C. Reamer, 94, of Cohoes, passed away at his
residence on Thursday, June 12, 2025. He was born in Cohoes and was
the son of the late Clarence W. Reamer, Sr. and Helen Cornes Reamer.
He attended Cohoes High School. Ed served his country in the US Navy
from 1951 to 1955. He was employed for over 33 years for the Town of
Colonie Highway Department, later retiring as foreman of the Highway
Garage. An avid bowler for many years, he achieved a perfect 300 game
in 2004 at the age of 73. Ed loved the birds and fed them daily, was a
talented mechanic and carpenter, “Mr. Fix It”, a life member of the Boght
Fire Company, and a member of AUHV Automobile Club. Ed is survived by
his wife of 68 years, Lorna W. Reamer of Cohoes, his daughters, Dawn
(Paul) Loucas of Tega Cay, S C and Lorna (Lori) (Frank) Murray of Cohoes,
grandfather of Gregory P. (Maartje) Loucas and Dana L. (James) Grundler,
Samantha D. (Trevor) Hall, and the late Nicholas F. Murray, great-
grandfather of Luke, Christian, Shepherd, and Kennedy, brother of
Clarence W. Reamer, Jr. (Tooter), he was pre-deceased by brothers John
W Reamer, Donald F Reamer and William C Reamer.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the
DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes at
12:00 noon with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating. Interment will follow in
Gerald G. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. The
family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from
10:00 to 12:00 prior to the service. Friends who wish to remember Ed in a
special way may donate to the United Church of Cohoes or to the Boght
