Obituary of Agatha C Pyskadlo
Cohoes – Mark and Ian Pyskadlo mourn the loss of their mother and grandmother, Agatha C. Bouchard Pyskadlo, who was rewarded with eternal life on Sunday, May 11, 2025, and reunited with Joe and Aimee. Agatha was born in Troy, NY on June 10, 1948, to the late Louis A. and Lea Grandchamp Bouchard. She was educated in Cohoes schools and began her career with the New York State government in 1966. She was employed by the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation until her retirement in 2003. In 2004, she began a second career with the Office of Court Administration, City, Town, and Village Courts Resource Center. Throughout her career, she met many fine people who quickly became friends. She enjoyed job fulfillment and personal enrichment because of those who came into her life. Agatha’s biggest hope was that she would somehow make a difference in the lives of those she met on her life journey. In 1967, Agatha met the young man who would become the love of her life, Joseph W. Pyskadlo. They were married on October 30, 1971, and enjoyed 37 years of marriage until Joe’s death on March 18, 2009. They were blessed with two wonderful children, their loving son, Mark J. Pyskadlo and their beloved daughter, the late Aimee L. Pyskadlo. In 2005, Mark’s son Ian J. Pyskadlo was born, and Agatha became Memere, a title she cherished. Agatha considered her most important job to be the best possible wife, mother, and grandmother. She definitely made a difference in our lives and left her footprints on this earth. In 1979, Agatha became a member of the Cohoes Columbiettes Council #192 and rose through the chairs to become President in 1988 through 1990. She enjoyed a special bond with her sister Columbiettes and as a result, made many lifetime friends. Agatha and Joe had many good times with their Knights of Columbus family. In 2002, Aggie became a volunteer with WMHT-RISE and combined her love of reading with community service. Agatha was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption parish in Waterford, NY, where she was proud to serve as a Eucharistic Minister. In addition to Mark and Ian, Agatha is survived by her much-loved Grandchamp family cousins, and many nieces and nephews. Also, her grand puppies George and Mitchell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 10:00am. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 4 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation in Agatha’s memory to the HVCC Foundation, to benefit the Aimee Lynn Pyskadlo Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was a labor of love for Joe and Agatha and was created after Aimee’s death in 2000 to honor her memory. For condolences, www.dufresnefuneralhome.com.
