Cohoes – Thomas J. Forgett, 75, of Cohoes, passed away at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on Thursday, March 6, 2025, with his daughter by his side. He was born in Cohoes and was the son of the late Arthur and Anna Heitzman Forgett. He graduated from Cohoes High School. Tom served his country in the US Army. He retired from the Watervliet Arsenal as a machinist after over 20 years of service. Tom was an avid fisherman, enjoyed rides up North and he loved handicapping the horses at NYRA, but most of all he loved his grandchildren. Wife of the late Paula M. Forgett. Father of Tammy (Cory) Samet of Texas and Kelly (Doug) Spizowski of Schenectady, grandfather of Nicholle, Kyle (Cassie),  Brianna, Aidan and Brayden and great grandfather of Kaeson and Serina. Brother of Ann (Gary) Grennon and the late Arthur Forgett, Jr., and William Forgett. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral Tuesday, 10AM, March 11, 2025, at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
