Obituary of Kenneth H Chevalier

Cohoes – Kenneth H. Chevalier, 79, of Cohoes, passed away at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. A lifelong resident of Cohoes, he was the son of the late Charles J. Chevalier and Alice Murray Chevalier LaMarche. Mr. Chevalier attended Cohoes elementary schools and graduated from Troy High School. He attended B.O.C.E.S. Manpower in 1970 where he completed training to become a Licenses Practical Nurse (LPN). Mr. Chevalier was employed at the former Cohoes Memorial Hospital from 1966 to 1971. He then moved to Cambridge Mass where he worked at Cambridge Nursing Home. He moved to Yonkers, NY where he worked at Sprain Brook Manor Nursing Home. In 1973 he returned to the area where he worked as Charge Nurse at Albany County Nursing Home for 23years, retiring in 1996. After his retirement he worked as a Private Duty Nurse for Apria Home Health Care Services and worked at various Health Care Facilities. Mr. Chevalier has been in the Health Care Profession for over 40years at the time of his death. He gained much respect and admiration from both his co-workers and patients throughout his career. Survivors include one sister, Mary Sicko of Clifton Park, one brother George LaMarche of Waterford and brother of the late Richard Chevalier. A stepbrother, Raymond LaMarche of Cohoes, and a stepsister, Connie Pierre of Slingerlands. He has several aunts and uncles: nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 10:30am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Monday from 5 to 7pm.
