Obituary of Alan W Melanson
Clifton Park – Alan W. Melanson, 60, of Clifton Park passed away at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. He was born in Cohoes and was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Jean Mullen Melanson. He graduated from Cohoes High School and HVCC with an Associates Degree in Computer Science. He retired from NYS Unified Court System as a data computer analyst in 2016. He loved fishing, wood working, crafts, sewing, and spending time at his lake house at Lake Champlain. Most important, he loved spending time with his family. Survived by his wife Catherine, his children, Brianna and Casey, his stepchildren Michael (Meredith) Roseo and Angela (John) Revello, his grandchildren Caitlin, Jason, Olivia, Abigail, Madelyn, and Michael. Brother of Lou Anne (George) Bigaouette, Gary (Linda) Melanson and Lynn (Robert) Grant, also survived by his sister-in-law Eileen McMahon and nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 12:00 noon at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. Gordon Drake officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:00am prior to the service.
