Obituary of June Pacholik
June Amelia Merrill Pacholik, 89, of Cohoes, passed away at her home on Monday, November 19, 2018, God has taken her home and her fight with breast cancer is over. Born in Cohoes, she graduated from Cohoes High School and Mildred Ellie. Daughter of the late George W. and Mildred T. Whelden Merrill. She worked in the Trust Department at Troy Savings Bank till having her first daughter, Holly. June was a Deacon at Silliman Presbyterian Church, Cohoes and a member of the United Church of Cohoes for 75 years. She read the Bible everyday in the upper room. Loved “find a word”, going on walks with her husband and being with Jim and Holly at their home in Berlin, she liked playing horse shoes with her son-in-law. She was active with ARC for her down syndrome daughter JoJo. She loved flowers, being her Dad worked at Sweetheart Flower Shop all his life. She loved Christmas and loved to sing. Wife of the late Joseph C. Pacholik. Mother of Holly Merrill Spofford of Cohoes and JoAnna “JoJo” Mildred Pacholik of Cohoes. Predeceased by her brother Whelden W. Merrill and her son-in-law James A. Spofford. Survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank Doctors Donna Heffernan and Robin Connelly and Hospice for the care given their Mother. Funeral services will be held on Friday, 12:00 noon at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. Friends who wish to remember June in a special way may contribute to the United Church of Cohoes or Community Hospice in her memory.
