George E. Landrigan, 86, of Lakeland, Florida entered eternal rest on April 1, 2013 at Hospice by the Sea, Boca Raton, Florida after a brief illness. He was born in Troy, N.Y. and was the son of the late George and Grace Devane Landrigan. Lived in Troy and Cohoes until he built his own home in Waterford. George worked as a bricklayer for over 35 years and was a member of Local 2-NY of the International Union Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers and served as Business Agent for many years. In 1985 he retired to Florida with his wife Marie where he enjoyed golf, card games and a good party. One of his proudest moments was a Hole-In-One on the Reservation Course in Lakeland, Florida on October 23, 1988. He received the Polk County Hospitality Superstar award in May 2006 for his volunteer work at a local golf course. George served in World War II aboard the USS Hudson DD-475, a ship that was awarded 9 Battle Stars. He was predeceased by his wife Marie Robitaille Landrigan. He is survived by his only daughter Cathy (Rick) Manhey of Lake George, N.Y. and Boca Raton, FL., his sister Jane Randall of Delray Beach, FL., predeceased by his brother James Landrigan of Easton, PA., and sister Ann Anderson of Troy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, sister and brother-in-laws. Funeral Saturday, 9:30am at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. James Ebert officiating. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7pm.
