Merola Joseph J. Merola, 56, of 2nd Avenue, Troy died suddenly at his residence on Saturday March 2, 2013. Born in Troy and was the son of the late Frank and Louise Rocco Merola. Educated in Troy and was a Mail Carrier in Brunswick. He was an Umpire at Cohoes Intermediate Baseball League and the surrounding area. Husband of the late Tammy Merola. Father of Molly Merola and Maura Merola both of Cohoes, step-father of Brooke Phillip and William Phillip both of Cohoes. Brother of John (Dawn) Merola, Anthony (Louisa) Merola, David (Jean) Merola and Anne Marie Merola all of Troy, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Thursday 11:00am at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. James Ebert officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9 to 11. Interment in St. Marys Cemetery, Waterford.
