Doris E. Schramm, 96, a life-long resident of Cohoes died April 27, 2017 in Alexandria VA. Doris Elba Champagne was born in Cohoes on March 18, 1921, daughter of the late John and Mary Champagne. She was a graduate of Cohoes High School and Troy Business College. She retired from the former Cohoes Savings Bank as Comptroller after 27 years of service. Doris was past Treasurer of the Savings Bank Women of the Capital District, member of the Eastern New York Chapter of Bank Administration, the National Association of Bank Women and former member of the Saturday Club of Cohoes. She is listed in the "Who's Who of American Women." Mrs. Schramm was a member and past Deacon of the First United Church of Waterford. She is predeceased by her husband Harry E. Schramm, sister Rhea Whitworth, step-son William Schramm and step-daughter Sharon L. Cromie. Doris is survived by her step-sons Harold (Mary) Schramm of Alexandria, VA, David (Janet) Schramm of Yukon, OK, and 13 grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday 11:00AM at the Dufresne Funeral Home, Inc. 216 Columbia Street Cohoes. Interment Memory Garden. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Funeral Home from 9:00-11:00AM
