Obituary of Thomas G. Cuva

Loudonville– Thomas G. Cuva, 93, of Loudonville and formerly of Cohoes passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Born and educated in Cohoes, he was the son of the late James and Margaret Leone Cuva. He was a WWII Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Mobile in the Pacific. He was very proud of his family, particularly that he and his five brothers served during WWII against nations that sought to destroy the American principles of liberty, justice and equality. He and his brothers ran Empire Taxi in Cohoes for many years. He was employed at Alleghany Ludlum in Watervliet until his retirement. He loved his extended family and treasured the many family reunions. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret L. Cuva and infant son Thomas J. Cuva. Survived by his son, Gerard (Kimberly) Cuva of Loudonville and his daughter, Beverly Cuva of Schenectady. Brother of Barbara (late Malcolm) Rock of Cohoes, Sarah (Ernie) Marton of New Jersey and the late Samuel Cuva, Joseph (Mary) Cuva, Anthony (Rose) Cuva, James Cuva, Frances (David) Parker and Frederick Cuva. Survived by his sister-in-laws, Jane Cuva of South Carolina and Gladys Cuva of Clifton Park, also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins David Leone and Ruth Campbell. The family is thankful for the love and care given to Tom by Debbie King and Denise Williams. Funeral Monday, 9:00am at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Sunday from 3 to 6pm.
