Obituary of Irene M. LaMarche

Irene M. Lussier LaMarche, 95, formerly of Cohoes passed away at Van Rensselaer Manor, Troy on Saturday, December 3, 2016, embraced by her loving family. Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Louise (Robert) Lussier and the wife of the late Louis LaMarche. Irene was a lifelong resident of Cohoes and retired from New York State Tax Department. She previously worked as a production seamstress and floor manager at the Troy District Shirt Company. Irene designed and sewed bridal gowns for numerous years for the House of Juliette and Ursula of Switzerland. She was a dedicated Girl Scout Leader. Irene kept busy in her retirement years sewing hundreds of clothes and quilts for preemies, lap quilts for veterans and was the Family Genealogist for the Lussier, Robert, Normandin and LaMarche Families. Irene's greatest joy in life was traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her devoted children, Lois (Edward) McGlynn of Latham, Iris (Robert) Rusiecki, Suzanne (Michael) Donnini, both of Cohoes, Lucille (Donald) Burkhardt of Lake Bess, Florida and Terri LaMarche of Cohoes; grandchildren Christopher (Heather) Rusiecki, Robert (Deborah) Rusiecki, Vanessa (John) Shanahan, Patric and Kevin McGlynn, Michael (Nicole) Donnini, Melissa Donnini, Jason, Joshua and Janeen Maxwell; great-grandson Ryan Rusiecki; great-granddaughters Emily, Amelia, Isabella Rusiecki, Lauren and Carissa Shanahan. And numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Leo, George and Armand Lussier and sisters Loretta Lepage and Marie Rose LaFerriere. The family is thankful to the staff of VanRensselaer Manor for the care they bestowed upon Irene, especially the kindness and compassion from the staff on 2B. Funeral Tuesday, 9:00am at the Church of the Holy Trinity where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.
