– Jacqueline H. Bentley Messier, 64, of Cohoes passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center on Friday morning September 11, 2015 after a life long illness. Born in Cohoes, she remained a lifelong resident and was the daughter of the late John and Albina Murray Bentley. She was a graduate of Cohoes High School, she worked at the NYS Division of Budget and later at Bilinski’s in Cohoes. Her main focus in life was her daughter, son in law, grandchildren and her dog Jake. Jackie also enjoyed caring for and helping to raise her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is survived by her daughter Julie (Anthony) Benedetti of Cohoes, her grandchildren Madison, Alex, Emma and Jaclyn Benedetti for whom she was lucky enough to enjoy on a daily basis until her passing. She is also survived by Julie’s father and great friend Robert Messier of Cohoes, sister Carol Orlyk of Latham, brothers James (Monica) Bentley of Troy, David (Laurel) Bentley of Cohoes, Dale Bentley (Rita Garzone) of Latham and the late John H. Bentley, Jr. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 10AM at St. Ambrose Church, Latham where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The family would like to thank all Jackie’s doctors, nurses and care givers who helped to keep her at home for many years. Those who wish to remember Jackie in a special way may make a contribution to the Cohoes Community Center in her memory.
