Harry A. Taylor, 88, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Harry was born in Cohoes to the late Harry and Elizabeth Taylor. He was a graduate of Cohoes High School Class of 1944. A World War II Navy Veteran. Harry worked as a self-employed home improvement contractor for over 60 years. Harry was a Brother of the Cohoes Masonic Lodge and worked as a professional musician for over 70 years with the Drum and Bugle Corp, Harry Taylors Orchestra, The Frank D'Amico Orchestra, Doring Marching Band, Buddy Breyer Band, Greg Nazarian Band and The Colonie Friends of Music. He was a boat enthusiast and builder and belonged to the Crescent Boat Club. Harry found great joy in spending time with all his special friends at Babe's Diner, Mike and Barb Corbiel, Norman Jarvis, Tom and Terry Brennan and their little dog Breezy. He was the husband of the late Shirley L. Taylor. Survivors include his son Paul A. (Vicki) Taylor of Camphill, PA, his daughter Sandra (Fred) Bouleris of Cohoes, his step daughters, Shirley (Kevin) Dingley of Clifton Park, Susan (Tim) Dingley of Glens Falls and Sandy (Richard) LeBlanc of Waterford, 5 grandchildren, Monica, Rachel, Joshua, Jeffrey, Kayci Rose and 9 step grandchildren, Heath, Corey, Randy, Jerry, Jennifer, Amy, Katie, Stephanie and Lucas, 29 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Ruth Washburn and great grandson Bradley LeMatty. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses and staff of St. Mary's Hospital and The Community Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to him. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday evening 6:30 pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm. Inurnment will take place in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 12:00 noon.
