Michael P. Carey, 65, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday May 14, 2015. Born and educated in Cohoes, he graduated from Cohoes High School. Son of the late Roger E. and Audrey Mary Gentile Carey. Mike was a machine operator at Bruno Machine Shop in Troy for 27 years, Owner/Operator of Mike Carey's Kitchen in Cohoes and he retired from the City of Cohoes Dept. of Public Works. Mike is a member of the PAA on Willow Street, Cohoes. Husband of the late Beverly Carey. Father of Janis (Jonathan) Holland of Georgia, Jenny (Anthony) Savage of Waterford. Longtime companion of Patricia Bishop of Cohoes. Step father of Anne and Valarie Bishop both of Cohoes. Grandfather of Sam and Xavier Holland, Isabella Savage, and Owen Cook. Brother of Roger Carey of Schenectady, Rose (Pat) Santor of Florida and James (Janet) Carey of Cohoes, also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral Tuesday evening 6:30pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Deacon Charles Valenti officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 pm. Contributions can be made in Mike's memory to a charity of one's choice.
