Florence G. Zehner, 84, of Cohoes passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 with her family by her side after a long illness. Born in Albany, educated in St. Marie’s School, Cohoes, graduated from Catholic Central High School, Troy and graduated from St. Peter’s School of Nursing in 1951 as a Registered Nurse. Daughter of the late Romeo and Eva Heroux Garceau. She was predeceased by her husband, Hilmore Zehner. Mother of Richard Zehner of Cohoes, Michael Zehner of Troy, Karen Zehner of Cohoes and Ellen (Steve) Michaels of Latham, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Sister of Irene Tremblay of Clifton Park and the late Margaret Bristol, also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Saturday 11:00am at the Church of the Holy Trinity where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Friday from 4 to 7pm. The family would like to thank Doctor Kevin Costello for his friendship and for the many years of care given to their parents.
